I am still not sure what happened.  Matt had his 7th birthday party on Saturday.  It was scheduled from 1-3.  His friends that we able to come over apparently had the first day of basketball that same day.  The parents said they could stay for half an hour.  So, with three high energy first grade boys, and Josh our high energy kindergartner, we crammed into a half an hour two games of MonkeyBall 2 on the Gamecube, birthday cake, presents, pin the tail on the donkey and another game of MonkeyBall 2.  It was the most intense birthday celebration I have ever taken part in.  Maya and Chris left.  It was all on me. 

And the thing was everyone was cool with it.  Matt felt great that he had his own birthday party.  Maya felt great that she didn't have to manage first grade boys.  Josh and Matt got along the whole rest of the afternoon playing Lego StarWars on the Gamecube (which is a rare luxury for them).  I was exhausted and felt like I could have slept the rest of the day.  But, score one for the dad who, at least for a day, was a cool dad and not a mean dad.
