I've lived a few places, but not really outside the midwest since I was a real little kid, so these things fascinate me. This morning I got up to run and I was outside at 6AM and it was ALREADY 85 DEGREES! The high around here is forecast to be 105 degrees the next five days. When I start up the car, the engine fan just comes on before you go anywhere! When I walk to school it takes my body a good 45 minutes to stop sweating once I've gotten to class, not to mention the time it takes me to dry off (maybe that's too much info). But then I remember that I'm pretty far south. For the family back home, you know how when you get on the highway it says Detroit one way and Chicago the other. Here it says Austin one way and Shreveport LA, the other. And I usually ask myself, "Do I really have to choose one of these?
In other news, Maya was a little under the weather yesterday so we stayed home from church. The kids wrote a skit with Barbie and Ken and two kids to illustrate the gospel lesson from the lectionary (Luke 12:22-34). They are quite talented, and I think they actually understood it too.
We have midterms this week, so gotta run. Talk to you all real soon. (It's midterms b/c even though the session is ending only one class is done and the other two are carrying over to the next session).
See you later.
