Hey everyone!
Everything is going well on the road. We had a great week in the Racine/Kenosha Wisconsin area and then a great long weekend in the Petoskey Michigan area, driving through Green Bay and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to see the fall color and the fantastic Mackinac Bridge! I lived in Michigan the first 28 years of my life and never previously made it up to the U.P. and the bridge, so that was cool.
On the partnership side things are going well. We've had very positive responses and interactions at our various stops. It is up to God how those will turn out in terms of prayer and financial support in the coming months. I have noticed that everytime I start to get discouraged I get an email or phone call from one of you and you have no idea how it lifts my day. So thanks for that.
Maya and the little kids are doing great at home. Concordia Seminary is a great community for them to live in and interact so we are very thankful for that. Chris and Katherine have given me a little bit of trial in doing their school work, but we're rolling with it alright. I miss Maya, but I am reminded of the many pastors I met in Botswana who end up separated from their families because they are assigned it rural places to speak the gospel and the wives need to stay in the cities to work so they can make ends meet, so at times the call of the Lord will take us apart, but by His grace we will get to be together soon.
Your continued prayers for our efforts on the road are appreciated. We are at Trinity in St Joseph this Saturday and Sunday for four different engagements and then at Trinity in Paw Paw next Saturday and Sunday for five different engagements. The weekdays in between are packed with among other things individual meetings, planning for speaking in 2009, teaching the kids, and research regarding the language situation in western Botswana. Definitely a full plate, so pray for that too.
Take care!
