Dumela rra (to the gents) or Dumela mma (to the ladies),
The end of another week. I returned from my whirlwind speaking stop in Ann Arbor MI on Sunday evening and hit the ground running to finish the session here at GIAL. I finished strong, and after a long nap, finished some more on Wednesday, enjoying a break before starting class again on Thursday. New slogan: GIAL - We don't need no stinkin' breaks!
This session I am taking Semantic Analysis and Language Program Design and Management. That will wrap up advanced training when it finishes in June. As mentioned previously, Maya finished her pre-field lingusitics work on Tuesday (Woot!) and is enjoying being mom again. She will take a two week Primary Health Care course near the end of June, but that will be more hands on and less book.
We have fire ants invading our lawn and I think the time is come that I will have to engage them in chemical warfare of some sort. Maya has gotten bit twice in the last week and her feet swell up like balloons when she does. She did agree to start wearing shoes and socks on the lawn, which I thought was helpful. But now they're coming in the house too. Anyways, more on that extracurricular activity with our next entry.
We are starting to plan speaking events for the fall. Check out the 'Speaking Tour' tab for more info about where we'll be when. If you would like us to come meet with you or your group, church, neighborhood, small group, bridge club or whatever, give us a call or email and we'll see what we can set up. And if you would like us to come to your church, maybe put in a good word for us with your pastor and then give us his contact info. It always carries more weight when you talk to him before we contact him.
Well, that's about it for now. We'll keep moving forward. See you next week.
