Without a Bible

The other morning at about 5:30am I snuck into an unused bedroom in our house (it was unused because for some reason Matt & Josh had gotten up during the night and set up camp with their sleeping bags in my room). So I closed the door and then turned on the light hoping to do a little reading and reflecting before getting on with the day.  I had everything I needed, my notepad, pen, but woops!  I forgot to grab my Bible.  Which was right in my  bedroom right around Camp Matt-n-Josh which  I wanted to avoid so I could get a little quiet time.  (They wake up at the drop of a pin and then all chance of quiet time is lost).  So I proceeded to reflect and have devotion without my Bible.  And you know what I found?  It is very hard to reflect for very long and at any meaningful depth when you don't have a Bible.  I could go for a little bit on what I had memorized, but if I wanted to go deeper - to stretch myself - I could not do it without a Bible.

I think God used that time to remind me why I am doing what I am doing.  God will be using our family to go and help other Christians have a Bible.  So they can reflect, grow, and stretch themselves.  So that their faith may be strengthened.  So that they may have the words to share with others to let them know that there is a new life and hope in Jesus Christ.  It's difficult to do that without a Bible.
