So I had a reality check that every day of my life and my trip is not the most interesting thing worth posting on a blog. On Christmas Day we had a great time with with the Kolberg/Homer side of the family at Maya's sister Jennifer and her husband Mark's home. We stayed til almost midnight it was so much fun!
Yesterday, 12/26 I spent a great deal of time trying to put together a sermon for Trinity in St Joseph on Sunday. I am a little rusty at preaching and did not accomplish much. Actually I had a great sermon if I was pastor at the church and could preach a series of follow up messages with related programming, but I don't do that anymore, so I had to rework it to be more suitable as a guest preacher. In the evening we spent time with Maya's Grandma Homer, who at 86 is still going strong and is always a joy to be around.
Today 12/27 Grammy Grammy (Maya's mom) took all ten grandkids to the movie theater on byob day (thats bucket as in free popcorn). I went up to Michigan and met briefly with Pastor Tom Batsky at Trinity, who lent me a car so I could get around freely. I reworked the sermon and got some stuff together for the big PD display, there sure is a lot that goes into doing this right. I got to eat dinner with my Grandma Bridgman and mom and dad. My sister Jennifer and her husband Jerry and daughter Kayla stopped in and I got to visit with them briefly. All in all a very full day. We have a few more days in Michigan with family before we hitteth the road again. This time has been very relaxing and refreshing and I am so glad we decided to travel for Christmas.
