The Big '34'

Well, it happened again.  Yesterday was my birthday.  The kiddos gave me a surprise party, we had some pizza and then some Dairy Queen ice cream.  It's been hot in Dallas this week, up to 100 degrees the last four days.  The A/C can be set at 85 degrees and it still feels good at that temperature!  Our first round of classes at GIAL is coming to a close this week.  Maya is earning a solid B in this college level phonetics class we are taking, which is awesome!  I'm doing fine with my classes, keeping up with the relentless pace etc.

Please continue to pray for our family to do well here, pray especially for our house in Dayton to sell to relieve us and our church in Dayton of the added expense of keeping it up.  Continue also to pray for my mom who meets with a surgeon next week to discuss options for dealing with the cancer that was found in her testing these past couple of weeks.  She asks that you pray for healing, but moreover for wisdom, both for her and for the medical professionals tasked with being God's instruments to help her.

Thank you all for your love and support.

Hi, and a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you. You're the only other people we know who eat ice cream after pizza. People think we're weird for doing it, but it's the absolute best combo. Just goes to prove we're innovators, huh? Or goofy. Maybe both.

Maya, congratulations on your good grades. That's something I've been specifically praying about. God answers prayers. Big time.

Rich, I'm sorry to hear about your mom's cancer. It's hard to see a parent go through something like that. My parents have been in the hospital this past month. My mom with heart and lung trouble, and my dad with some as-yet-undiagnosed trouble and pancreas issues. They're your parents, you love them, and you want them to grow older happy and healthy. We'll pray for ALL of you in this.

Blessings on your whole family.
