Those are the words of the psalmist in Psalm 13 crying out to God to be delivered from his enemies. They were also my words last night as I pondered the unsold home in Dayton, the burden that it is placing on my church, the uncertainty that it is placing on our future. How long? As I read that Psalm and I consider the enemies the psalmist speaks of, I am reminded that my enemy is dead set against what I am doing here in linguistics training to go bring the word of God to people who haven't heard it in a way that speaks to their hearts. And God in his wisdom has allowed this obstacle. Will I fall prey to the temptation to be afraid, to be bitter, to try to take the situation into my own hands? Or will I wait on the Lord's timing? The psalmist ends with a triumphant note of confidence, "I will rejoice in the Lord, for He has dealt bountifully with me." God - I know you will provide in Your timing. I want to believe. Help my unbelief! I trust in You. Amen
